Strike Update from Days Writer Casiello

The latest on the strike from "Days of our Lives" Emmy winning writer Tom Casiello:

So the AMPTP and WGA have both mutually agreed to return to the negotiating table next Monday (the 26th)

HALLELUJAH!!!! And recent polls show that public opinion is definitely favoring the writers these days... and if these blogs, and all my friends and fans spreading the word about the situation, even had one ONE-MILLIONTH of ONE percentage point to do with that, then venting on some stupid MySpace blog is totally worth it.

Also, here's the link for the Fans4Writers Pencil campaign: http://unitedhollywood.blogspot.com/

Scroll down to Pencils2MediaMoguls. Its cheap and it's for a great cause!

Does this mean it's over? Hell, no! We're still picketing this week, as strong as ever. There's every possibility (in a cynical world) that talks could stall again. So we're going to keep driving the point home that the people in charge are making billions off the Internet, while the people creating the product and performing in it are making ZERO.

But this is a great step. Picketing knowing there wasn't even mention of going back to the table was HORRIBLY depressing. What a motivation this is. I'm all ready to hit the lines again.

On a personal note, not being in Salem every day feels like heroin withdrawl. This job was a childhood dream of mine, and not being able to type a single world, especially with such great stuff going on with Marlena and Stefano, and Bo and Hope and Steve and Kayla when I last left them is just excruciating.. I've actually resorted to going back and re-reading old breakdowns, just to get my fix. Crazy? Maybe. But I love visiting this little fictional world, and in the midst of all of the strike conference calls and captains' meetings, I think it's good to keep connected to Salem. Hopefully, I have a home to return to, and I'm ready to dive back in once they say "go" with both barrels a-blaze.

So thanks everyone for your unbelievable support. Fingers crossed we're all back at work by Christmas!!
