From TV Guide magazine: PASSIONS ends its nine-year run in August, but it's not too late to break through another sexual barrier - or quietly make suds history. On July 22, AARP-age lesbians Norma (Marianne Muellerielle) and Edna (Kathleen Noone) will say "I do" in daytime's first legal gay wedding.
VIDEO: Divas of Daytime TV Unplugged
The Divas of Daytime TV are ready to sing their hearts out and ABC 6 in Philadelphia has a preview.

Other soap alum starring on the show include Rue McClanahan (ex-Caroline, ANOTHER WORLD) and Bonnie Bedelia (ex-Sandy, LOVE OF LIVE).
TOM CASIELLO: The Biggest Trend on Daytime I Wish Would Go Away
"STOP KILLING OFF LEGACY CHARACTERS AND BRINGING THEM BACK IMMEDIATELY AS GHOSTS!"
Deep Soap: Blast From The Past
"It’s one of the great daytime clichés. A character stares off into space as the show cuts to a flashback of a pervious scene. At their best, flashbacks are a great way of showing the audience what a character is thinking. At their worst, flashbacks are filler. When a character has a lengthy recollection of something that has happened within the past couple weeks, it’s a signal for a lot of people to switch the channel or hit the fast forward button."
The 20 Sexiest Black Women Over 40
Former Y&R diva Victoria Rowell made the AOL Black Voices list at #20. A few other former soap actress also made the cut. EDITOR'S NOTE: This must be the week for naming all things sexy.
LYNN LICCARDO: Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda…
First rule of creative writing:
"Show, don't tell."
Marland Rule # 6"
"Don't change a core character. You can certainly give them edges they didn't have before, or give them a logical reason to change their behavior. But when the audience says, ‘He would never do that,' then you have failed."(bold added)
There's so much more to say about why the Carly-Holden story has angered so many As the World Turns fans. But, the three items above really do explain everything that's gone wrong - not with the idea of the story of an illicit affair, which as my good friend, Marlena de la Croix points out, "are staples of soaps," - but with the how and why, and how fast, of this story.
Daytime’s Greatest Manwhores
Who do you think tops the list?
