Tony winners Sara Ramirez (ex-Hannah, AS THE WORLD TURNS) and Tyne Daly (ex-Caroline, GENERAL HOSPITAL) joined fellow straight allies Amy Brennaman, Christine Lahti, Dolores Huerta, Camryn Manheim, Melonie Diaz, Sally Kirkland (ex-Brenda, GENERAL HOSPITAL) and Carolyn Hennesy (Diane, GENERAL HOSPITAL) in the "Stop the Hate, Vote No on 8". campaign by making a series of public service announcements in support of same-sex marriage in California.
