Nielsen Media Research agreed to recount network news ratings from last week after reporting Tuesday that ABC’s WORLD NEWS had its smallest-ever audience, the Associated Press says.
The initial ratings showed ABC’s newscast with just 6.2 million viewers for the week, its lowest figure since the 1987 introduction of peoplemeters. The numbers were particularly low on Friday evening, night of the digital transition. Nielsen will reissue the ratings today.
Nielsen's numbers have regularly been called into question over the past few months.
