This news will surely rev up the young actors on soaps today. According to Entertainment Weekly, Alec Baldwin will be co-hosting the Academy Awards in 2010. Long-term soap viewers will remember him as Billy Aldrich on NBC's THE DOCTORS from 1980-1982, and later as a mentally ill preacher [insert your own joke here] on KNOTS LANDING from 1984-1985. He's currently enjoying a successful run on NBC's 30 ROCK.One thing I've always appreciated about Mr. Baldwin is that he has never tried to hide his soap opera past, or much of anything else for that matter as exemplified in this photo.
