2010 Daytime Emmy Rulebook: A Few Notes Of Interest

Here are a few interesting tidbits from the rulebook from this year's Daytime Emmy Awards.

Drama Series (One episode for one hour shows, two for B&B)
The Emmy® award for Drama Series recognizes the work of the Executive Producer[s], Supervising Producer[s], Senior Producer[s], Producer[s], Coordinating Producer[s], Line Producer[s] and Consulting Producer[s] credited on a minimum of 19% of the original episodes on a Drama.

Acting Categories (Unlimited number of scenes from one episode)
The Emmy® award recognizes the work of the Performer. All eligible performers can enter. Note: A Preliminary Pre-Screen ballot for each of the Drama Performer Categories will be assigned to registered, eligible peer voters only. They will vote for 2 performers per show, per category. Individuals receiving the most votes will advance to a single Blue Ribbon round of judging.

Younger Actor and Actress are once again 25 and below.

Many of the technical awards require the nominee to have been credited on 40% of the episodes. For writing and directing, the requirement is being credited on only 19%. As with Drama Series, only one show is submitted to be judged.
