We Love Soaps was surprised to learn today that Drew Garrett will no longer be appearing on ABC's GENERAL HOSPITAL. As Michael Corinthos, the brain damaged gun-shot survivor of Carly Jax and Sonny Corinthos (and biological son of A.J. Quartermaine), Garrett made a strong impact in his daytime debut upon viewers and critics alike. In his eleven months on the show he has been able to effectively portray Michael's trauma and inner conflict of growing up in a mob-centered family environment, and how that angst led up to perpetrating Claudia's murder.Michael will be portrayed by Chad Duell starting on April 20.

Well since Michael is knee deep in a front burner storyline right now, I think it was wise to recast this soon, since holding off most likely wasn't an option, as we know these scripts and storylines are written months in advance. Let's just hope this Chad dude can fill Drew's shoes and do the role justice!

ReplyDeleteDrew had to have done something wrong- showing up late or something. They would have not let him go for nothing. He has been praised for his portrayal of Michael! Im guessing it was his actions and not the GH casting department. Too bad!!
