Veteran entertainers and actresses Diahann Carroll and Irma P. Hall will be joining the cast of the 2009 Indie Soap of the Year winner DIARY OF A SINGLE MOM for its new season. The third season of the award-winning web series kicks off November 18.Among her soap credits, fans will remember Carroll's divalicious run as Dominique Deveraux on DYNASTY in the '80s. She's also guest-starred on GREY'S ANATOMY.
Hall's soap roles have included Mama Joe on SOUL FOOD and Glory St. Claire on ALL SOULS.
During Tuesday night's live-streaming chat with DIARY producer and director Robert Townsend and the female cast, Townsend heaped praised on WE LOVE SOAPS TV and the Indie Soap Awards for honoring his show.

Robert Townsend: Roger Newcomb! WE LOVE SOAPS! You know what, Roger, thank you and your partner in crime for honoring DIARY OF A SINGLE MOM at WE LOVE SOAPS last year. That was one of our first awards and that meant a whole lot that you guys voted and had the online community check us out. WE LOVE SOAPS honored us last year and we won web series of the year. And Roger and you guys, thank you, thank you, thank you. This is my first web series and I'm really, really proud of it, and as an artist I just really love creating. When people talk about a new medium, it's like, "There's not a whole lot of people who know about this." We're slowly building our audience and when an organization like WE LOVE SOAPS comes along and honors us and kind of put us in the stratosphere, because people started to talk about it and click on and check us out. It was good all the way around. So thank you guys very, very much. I'm having a ball. As an artist, I love creating.
