Said Lucci: "I was completely blindsided. I had just started the book tour. I had been to cities all over the country meeting thousands and thousands of people enthusiastic, so excited about the show. I had no idea. I found out five minutes before. I received a call from Brian Frons, the Vice President of Daytime television, asking me to come upstairs to the producer's office. I kind of knew something was going on because when I went up the stairs there were a lot of very seriously dressed executives coming down. I was shocked. I've seen productions on both coasts now, both the New York company production taken away from New York, hundreds of people. And now here in Los Angeles. Agnes Nixon has been welcomed back in to writing her own show and we're going out with the hands we came in on."
