YOUNG AND RESTLESS Actor John Driscoll Asked For Restraining Order Against Fan; Takes Paternity Test

For the second time in a week comes a story of a soap opera actor having a conflict with a fan that crosses a line that leads to the courts being involved. Last week, Victor Alfieri sued an "obsessed fan" alleging breach of contract, libel and slander. And now, TMZ has published court documents showing THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS actor John Driscoll's restraining order petition from early August against a fan and former neighbor he says "clearly is not rational."

The petition claimed the fan "pursued contact w/ me and my fiancee. She took it to extremes making accusations of sexual encounters and fathering her child which was proven false through a forced [$119] paternity test." He asked for protection for his fiancee, Beth, as well. The two recently announced their engagement.

"She slandered my name and reputation to friends, family and more seriously my place of employment & employees (CBS - Y&R) regarding false accusations of fathering her child."

The petition goes on to say Beth has been harassed as well causing her "great remorse and even health issues."

Driscoll was due in court on September 13 but didn't show up so the judge tossed his petition.

So what do you think? Are these two extreme situations or do some actors not know where to draw the line in their relationships with their fans? Are the soaps responsible for taking any action when accusations like this arise? Weigh in below in our Comments section.
