Actor John Ingle has died at age 84.
Ingle, who made his final appearance as Edward Quartermaine in GENERAL HOSPITAL last week, died on Sunday according a posting by his family on Facebook.
Daytime soap opera fans also remember Ingle from his run as Mickey Horton in DAYS OF OUR LIVES.
His primetime soap roles included guest appearances in DALLAS, KNOTS LANDING, MELROSE PLACE and BEVERLY HILLS, 90210.
Ingle won a Soap Opera Digest Award in 1998 as Outstanding Male Scene Stealer.
His film roles included Heathers, Batman & Robin, and RoboCop 2.
Before getting into acting full-time in the 1980s, Ingle was a teach for three decades at Hollywood High School then Beverly Hills High.
Ingle's family posted the following on Facebook after his death:
"Father, Husband, Grandan, Great Grandan, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Teacher, Inspirer, Mentor: May You Soar with the Angels. You will forever hold a special place in the deepest corners of our hearts. You were joy, light and love. Goodness at its very best. For the rest of our days, we will all do our best to continue to make you proud. Rest in peace and continue to spread your generous spirit in the heavens above."
