NBC Moving SMASH To Saturdays

NBC announced several lineup changes on Wednesday including the move of musical soap SMASH from Tuesday night at 10 p.m. ET to Saturday at 9 p.m. ET beginning April 6.

The SMASH second season premiere only averaged a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 and 4.5 million viewers. The show's most recent episode drawing fewer than 3 million viewers and a 0.9 rating in same-day viewing.

The low ratings led to some speculation the network would not even air all the Season 2 episodes before canceling the show, but NBC confirmed viewers will see the entire season of 17 episodes.

In its place, NBC has slotted another unscripted show, this time the relationship series READY FOR LOVE from producer Eva Longoria. It debuts April 9 with a two-hour premiere at 9 p.m. following THE VOICE, which launches season four March 25.
