Jacqueline MacInnes Wood has chosen not to renew her contract with THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, according to the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest. The actress has played Steffy Forrester on the soap since June 2008. There's no word yet of her last airdate or if B&B plans to recast the role.
UPDATE:
According to the CBS Soaps in Depth Twitter feed, the Digest news is not completely accurate: Contrary to rumors, Jacqueline Wood remains Steffy, is "continuing to tape, with episodes airing through July and then beyond. Technically, she IS taking a break. But as the show says, 'like she's done before.'"
UPDATE #2:
From Soap Opera Digest online:
B&B's popular star, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy), is leaving the show. "Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is taking a short break, as she has done in the past, from B&B," confirms a spokesperson for the No. 2 soap. "She remains as the character of Steffy Forrester and is continuing to tape, currently with episodes airing through July of 2013 and then beyond." Digest learned the actress had wrapped filming and was sent flowers on her last day; turns out, she is taping again this Friday.
UPDATE #3:
More information here from Hunter Tylo (Taylor) who announced she is also leaving the show.
UPDATE #4:
Fans of THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL's Steffy Forrester have been disheartened ever since the brunette departed L.A. for Paris, but viewers needn't count her out. She'll be airing on Thursday, July 11 and Friday, July 12.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" teases Scott Clifton (Liam), when asked where his storyline with Steffy was heading now that her portrayer, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, is technically off-contract with the show. "Let me be clear — she's not gone," he clarifies. "She'll be around. If you talk to her, she'll tell you she has no intention of, like, never showing up again. She's going to be coming back."
