ALL MY CHILDREN star Thorsten Kaye has joined the cast of THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL as the new Ridge Forrester, according to TVGuide.com. He replaces longtime star Ronn Moss, who departed the soap in 2012 after 25 years.Kaye will make his B&B debut on December 13. Ridge will be returning from more than a year away in Paris to find his ex-wife Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) is now engaged to Bill Spencer (Don Diamont).
"I won't bring the same tools to the role as Ronn did," Kaye said, "but I do have a couple of my own. I just hope the audience will let me play with this for a bit and try to get my footing."
"I don't have a contract there anymore," Kaye explained when asked about his deal with AMC production company Prospect Park. "It's sad, you know? And I hope it all works out for them. But when you have a solid opportunity on a show that's so highly regarded, you just gotta take it."
In addition to his role as Zach Slater on ALL MY CHILDREN, Kaye's other soap roles include Ian Thornhart in PORT CHARLES, Patrick Thornhart on ONE LIFE TO LIVE and Nick Felder in SMASH.
