Cynthia Watros Leaving THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, Cady McClain To Replace Her As Kelly

Cynthia Watros won at the 2013 Indie Series Awards as
Best Lead Actress - Comedy.
Cynthia Watros is leaving THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS and Cady McClain will replace her as "Kelly Andrews," according to Angelica McDaniel, Senior Vice President, Daytime, CBS Entertainment. Watros will shoot her final scenes March 14 and will last air April 16.

"We're all sad to see @watroswatros leave #YR for her new series on the East Coast. Please RT to welcome @CadyMcClain to Genoa City as Kelly!" tweeted McDaniel.

"Last day is March 14. So sad to leave," confirmed Watros via @wtroswatros, her Twitter account. "Welcome Cady! She will be fantastic. Kelly is one lucky girl :)" she added.

Watros will be starring in FINDING CARTER, a new primetime, scripted MTV series just confirmed for 12 episodes. She will be shooting the series in Atlanta over the next five months. She was a fan favorite on LOST and may be most fondly remembered for her work as "Annie Dutton" on GUIDING LIGHT.

"I LOVED being on Y and R. A big hug to the cast and crew! You guys rock! My fans and my not fans. I love you."

"I hope I didn't let you down," she added. "I love Kelly...James Blake, retrograde. I dedicate this to her."

The reference is to the new torch song release by English electronic music star James Blake on his album Overgrown, with the lyrics:

Suddenly I’m hit
It's the starkness of the dawn
And your friends are gone
And your friends won’t come
So show me where you fit
McClain, who won Emmy Awards for her work on ALL MY CHILDREN and AS THE WORLD TURNS, begins taping on March 26 and will first be seen April 16.
