1964: The Young Marrieds premiered on ABC.  1979: Sue Ellen's sister and mother arrived on Dallas1984: The final episode of Another Life aired on CBN.
2001: Bold and Beautiful's Brooke survived her fall off the Eiffel Tower.

ON THIS DAY IN...

1964: The Young Marrieds premiered on ABC. The daytime soap opera was created by James Elward and written by Elward with Frances Rickett. Among its cast were future Days of our Lives actors Peggy McCay, Brenda Benet and Susan Seaforth Hayes. The show ran until March 25, 1966.



1977: On One Life to Live, Marco (Gerald Anthony) asked Dorian for a job at The Banner.

1979: On All My Children, Dick Cavett attended the opening of Erica Kane's (Susan Lucci) disco.

1979: On General Hospital, Luke (Anthony Geary) raped Laura (Genie Francis).



1979: On As the World Turns, as Lisa (Eileen Fulton) settled into her new life away from Oakdale, Hester (Ann Stanchfield) assured Bennett (Doug Higgins) she wouldn't stir up any trouble. Penny mysteriously called Bob (Don Hastings) from Europe.



1979: Two important recasts debuted on Dallas in the episode titled "The Silent Killer." Keenan Wynn succeeded David Wayne as Digger Barnes and Mary Crosby replaced Colleen Camp as Kristin Shepard.



1982: On Texas, Mark Wheeler (Michael Woods) invited Ruby Wright (Alexandra Neil, then Dianne Thompson Neil) to have dinner with his parents.

1984: The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) aired the final episode of Another Life. Co-created by Roy Winsor and Bob Aaron, the daytime soap opera premiered on June 1, 1981, and ran for 875 episodes.



1994: On All My Children, Brooke (Julia Barr) was upset that Adam (David Canary) hired Kendall (Sarah Michelle Gellar) to be her personal assistant at Tempo.



1998: On Sunset Beach, Ben Evans (Clive Robertson) refused to believe it when Quint (Keene Curtis) told him that Maria was alive. Later, at the wedding, Ben watched as Meg Cummings (Susan Ward) walked down the aisle to marry him.

2000: Amy Sherman-Palladino's Gilmore Girls premiered on the WB network. The show ran for 7 seasons, ending on May 15, 2007 on The CW.

2001: On The Bold and the Beautiful, strangers rushed to help Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) following her fall from the Eiffel Tower in Paris.



2009: On Days of our Lives, Carly (Crystal Chappell) stabbed Lawrence (Michael Sabatino) then used his suit jacked to wipe off the knife.
