
A major mystery on Days of our Lives was solved today. The identity of the woman inside the glowing pod was finally be revealed when Nikki Crawford made her debut as the new Lexie Carver on Friday, March 6.
Crawford brings an impressive résumé to Salem. A respected stage performer, she earned a 2023 Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play for Fat Ham. Her television credits include appearances on A Different World, Malcolm in the Middle, Pretty Little Liars, and Elsbeth. Days of our Lives marks her first role in daytime television.
Lexie Carver has a long history on the NBC soap. The character was first introduced in 1987 and originally played by Cyndi James Gossett from 1987–89. Angelique Francis took over the role from 1989–92, followed by a brief stint from Shellye Broughton in 1993. Jennifer Lee also appeared as Lexie for an episode in 2021.
However, the role is most closely associated with Renée Jones, who portrayed Lexie from 1993 until the character’s death in 2012. Now, with Crawford stepping into the part, one of Salem’s most beloved characters is poised for an unexpected new chapter.
