3 Favorite Things That Happened on 'Beyond the Gates' This Week

Beyond the Gates delivered another week of high-stakes drama, highlighted by a crossover event that brought six The Young and the Restless characters to Fairmont Crest for Martin Richardson's fundraiser. While there was plenty to enjoy, these were my three favorite moments of the week.

1. Vernon Dupree Welcomes Victor Newman to Fairmont Crest
The crossover got off to a strong start when The Young and the Restless legend Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) arrived in Fairmont Crest via Newman Enterprises helicopter. Waiting to greet him was Beyond the Gates patriarch Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis). As the longtime friends caught up during their ride to the fundraiser, it was a genuine pleasure to watch two television icons–both in their 80s–share the screen. Their scenes carried the kind of history and gravitas that can't be manufactured.

2. Hayley Hamilton and Kyle Abbott's Unexpected Chemistry
I've never been particularly invested in Hayley Hamilton (Marquita Goings) or Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), but their scenes together changed that. Hayley felt more relatable than ever, and the flirtation between the two characters was surprisingly fun to watch. By the end of the week, I found myself rooting for the kiss teased in CBS's crossover promo. If Hayley ever decides she's done with Bill, perhaps Genoa City should be her next stop.

3. Joey's Little Sister is The Impaler
The biggest surprise of the week belonged to Ashley Jones. We knew she was joining the show, but her role remained a mystery until she debuted as Heather Armstrong—Joey's (Jon Lindstrom) younger sister. The shock didn't stop there. Heather was also revealed to be the elusive Impaler. Her first scenes with Joey were both entertaining and intriguing, especially given his reaction to the revelation. Their dynamic has immediate potential, and I'm eager to see where the story goes next.

Week after week, Beyond the Gates continues to balance emotional storytelling with bold twists, and this week was no exception.
