1964: On Another World, Ann suggested Missy (Carol Roux) see a counselor to help understand why she's afraid of boys.

1973: Actor Walter Greaza, who played Winston Grimsley for years on The Edge of Night, died at age 76.

1981: Another Life premiered on the Christian Broadcasting Network. Co-created by Roy Winsor and Bob Aaron, the show ran until October 5, 1984 (875 episodes). Check out the closing credits from a 1981 episode below.



1983: Actor Earnest Graves died at age 64.  His many soap roles included being the original actor to play Victor Lord on One Life to Live and Dr. David Stewart in As the World Turns.  His longest daytime stint was playing The Guiding Light's Alex Bowden.

1984: On Days of our Lives, Larry Welch received the shock of his life when he lifted "Hope's" veil at their wedding.



1984: Phil Morris debuted as Tyrone Jackson in The Young and the Restless. Elsewhere in the episode, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) tried to convince Cora Miller (Dorothy McGuire) to visit her son, Victor, while Jack (Terry Lester) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) argued over whether to tell John (Jerry Douglas) he was never divorced from Dina.

1988: On General Hospital, Edward (David Lewis) grumbled about Lila (Anna Lee) bringing "every stray dog and cat in here" when Charlene (Maree Cheatham) arrived at the Quartermaine's.



1994: Original All My Children cast member Frances Heflin, who playe Erica Kan'es mother, Mona, passed away at age 73. Check out an early episode of AMC featuring Heflin below.



1997: Port Charles, a half-hour spin-off of General Hospital, premiered in a two-hour primetime special on ABC.



2007: Jake Silbermann debuted as Noah Mayer on As the World Turns.



2009: The Young and the Restless stars Daniel Goddard and Joshua Morrow appeared on CBS game show The Price is Right.
