British Soap Awards 2015 Winners List: 'EastEnders' Named Best Soap

EastEnders was named Best Soap at the British Soap Awards on Saturday.

The winners of the British Soap Awards 2015 were announced on Saturday night in a ceremony at Manchester Palace Theatre. EastEnders took home eight awards to lead all shows, and was named Best British Soap. Below is a complete list of winners, and the other nominees in each category.

The British Soap Awards 2014 Final Five Nominations Revealed

The British Soap Awards returns to celebrate another mammoth year in soap opera, looking back on twelve months worth of murder, mystery, make ups, break ups, trials, tribulations, tears and heartache.

The 16th annual awards, which take place for the first time at London’s iconic Hackney Empire theatre, will honor the nation’s biggest and best-loved TV shows, as well as the stars that have portrayed the characters in this year’s most talked about storylines.

The five biggest soaps - Coronation Street, Doctors, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks – will be battling it out to win recognition for their work over the past year. Stars from all five soaps will be hitting the red carpet for the most star-studded event in the soap calendar.

Hosted by Phillip Schofield, the awards will be presented by an array of well-known faces from across the TV and showbiz world.

British Soap Awards 2013 Winners List: CORONATION STREET Is The Big Winner Of The Night

CORONATION STREET won eight prizes at the British Soap Awards on Sunday night. The ITV show's awards included best soap, best storyline for Kirsty's abuse of Tyrone Dobbs and best actor for Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone.

HOLLYOAKS won five awards, including best actress for Claire Cooper, who plays Jacqui McQueen.
