Most Fascinating People of 2011

Here in Times Square at the We Love Soaps headquarters, fascinating people are our bread and butter.  The more interesting and appealing someone is, the more we want to write about them, and the more you all want to read.  So we know fascinating people!

While it's true that (especially since we cover the inherently dramatic and fabulous world of The Soap Opera) almost everyone we post about, photograph, or interview is at least a little bit fascinating, at least to someone, every year there are definitely some personalities that, truth be told, we just can't get enough of.  One of the joys of the new year is that we get to reflect on all the nutty, inspirational, tear-jerking, shocking, and otherwise fascinating people of the year before.  2011 had some doosies!  Here they are, in no particular order, because they're all very fascinating in very different ways.

DIRTY SOAP REACTION: What Was Your Favorite Moment?

DIRTY SOAP just ended on the East coast. There was no mention of Kirsten Storms, and Galen & Jenna Gering were absent from the episode as well.

Some of our favorites:
* JP almost having to marry Farah if her father sank that putt
* Discovering Farah started drinking bourbon at age 5

OPINION: DIRTY SOAP's Farah and Jenna Show New And Wonderful Sides To Themselves

DIRTY SOAP didn't have that overt theme jumping out that it had over the past couple of weeks but I picked up on my own theme.

We have come to know these soap stars in very specific roles on this show but things aren't always so cut and dried. Given that I tend to have very strong feelings for both Jenna Gering and Farah Fath, it is obvious that these are the two people I'm starting to re-evaluate in light of events on last night's episode. I didn't realize that I was going to have some shifts in my opinion at the beginning of this episode.

Kelly Monaco: It's "Sink Or Swim" Time For GENERAL HOSPITAL; Wants To See Kirsten & Farah "Be Real About What Happened"

Kelly Monaco gave a revealing interview to TheInsider.com about the state of daytime soap operas, DIRTY SOAP, and DANCING WITH THE STARS.

On the current situation with GENERAL HOSPITAL, she said, "We're very aware that we could be pulled at any time, it's the reality of the times. But we're hoping to make daytime cool for a generation that may not know we exist."

SURVEY RESULTS: Nadia Bjorlin, Farah Fath & Kelly Monaco have the Best DIRTY SOAP Quotes

The results are in from our viewer's choice DIRTY SOAP survey, and the five most popular quotes are listed below. Seems we're most interested in what came out of Nadia's mouth--or, um. . . the opposite? Kelly's (bitchy) comment about bitching, at second place, still captured almost a quarter of the vote. I imagine, for some, her admonition was mildly cathartic; didn't it feel like she was speaking for those who could not be heard (the audience)?

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: WE LOVE SOAPS TV Mired In Farah Fath vs. Kirsten Storms Imbroglio Long Before DIRTY SOAP

We've all been watching the mounting rivalry between daytime soap stars Farah Fath and Kirsten Storms on E!'s DIRTY SOAP. Back in Season One of our web series, WE LOVE SOAPS TV, Damon L. Jacobs visited the ONE LIFE TO LIVE studio and spoke with Farah.

It was February 2010, and all he did was innocently ask Farah if she keeps in touch with Kristen. Things got a little bit awkward. . . now we all know why.

Watch her response in this video.
