1909: Jim Davis was born. The actor would go on to play patriarch Jock Ewing in the CBS primetime soap opera Dallas. Davis died April 26, 1981, at age 71.

1946: Prolific radio soap opera writer Elaine Sterne Carrington (Pepper Young's Family; Rosemary) was featured in TIME magazine.

1950: Benjamin Hendrickson was born. He would go on to play a number of soap opera roles including Hal Munson in As the World Turns. Hendrickson died on July 1, 2006, at age 55.

1968: On The Doctors, at a restaurant, Nick (Gerald Gordon) asked Althea (Elizabeth Hubbard) to marry him.

Everyone thought he was dead but he’s underground. Everyone was so animated and incredulous. It played like slapstick, too. It felt like we were in a different genre, like a sitcom. And what was funny was that Eugene didn’t mind marrying Marlena so much.”

1909: Jim Davis was born.  He is best known for his final role as Jock Ewing in the original DALLAS.   Davis died in 1981 at age 71.

1946: Prolific radio soap opera writer Elaine Sterne Carrington (PEPPER YOUNG'S FAMILY; ROSEMARY) was featured in TIME magazine.

1950: Future Daytime Emmy winner Benjamin Hendrickson was born.  He is best known to soap fans for his long-running role as Hal Munson in AS THE WORLD TURNS but also starred in TEXAS, ANOTHER WORLD and GUIDING LIGHT.  Hendrickson died in 2006 at age 55.

STORY:
Jack came to Oakdale working for the FBI trying to bring down James Stenbeck.  He soon joined the Oakdale PD and met Carly, an up and coming fashion designer.  The two clashed but had an instant attraction to each other.  Months later they were trapped in (rogue cop) Teague's cabin in the woods and Carly's startling revelations created an even stronger bond between them.  Despite falling in love, life was not going to be easy for Jack and Carly.  Carly wanted a better life and didn't mind breaking a few rules to reach her goal.  Jack was a "by the book" kind of guy and this difference tore them apart many times over the years.  But Jack and Carly could never stay away from each other very long.

STORY:
Lily met Holden when he began working as the stable boy at the Walsh estate.  She was an immediately attracted to the brooding Snyder and soon became close with his entire family, including his older sister, Iva (Lisa Brown).  Over the next year and a half it was slowly revealed that Iva was Lily's biological mother, and then later that Iva was adopted (so Holden and Lily weren't actually related).  In a dramatic scene at the Walsh stables, Iva revealed the truth to Lily when she thought her daughter was in danger from Rod (William Fichtner).  Lily fled to Wyoming and Holden followed.

TiVo Treads Into T-Commerce With PayPal Pact
Starting this fall, ToVp will let DVR users click on interactive ads to buy products or services through their PayPal accounts, a solution that will be available to TiVo's cable operator customers.

The concept of letting TV viewers shop with their remote controls has been around since the earliest days of interactive TV -- with limited success to date. Players already engaged in T-commerce include HSN, which provides on-screen interactive TV apps that let viewers buy products featured on the shopping channel through Comcast, Dish Network, Verizon and other operators.

EXCLUSIVE: SoapClassics Releases Special Commemorative Edition AS THE WORLD TURNS DVD: Farewell To Oakdale

SoapClassics has released a special commemorative edition AS THE WORLD TURNS DVD today, "Farewell To Oakdale."

The set features the final ten episodes of the series, and a replica of an actual Director’s shooting script from the program's final week.

As the writers brought the show to a close, John Dixon returned and reunited with Lucinda, Reid tragically died, Chris received another chance at life, Carly and Jack married for the final time, Henry and Barbara were together and happy, and Bob retired from the hospital.

The fans have spoken and SoapClassics has released another classic soap opera DVD, this time an AS THE WORLD TURNS collection: "The Story of Lily and Holden."

AS THE WORLD TURNS Alum Jon Hensley To Appear on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

Jon Hensley, best known for his role as HOLDEN SNYDER on AS THE WORLD TURNS, will play a doctor who will be involved in the Hope/Liam/Steffy storyline on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL.

According to TVGuide.com, B&B will shoot for the second time in the Colorado city the week of March 12 — taking advantage of Aspen Fashion Week — and the episodes will begin airing April 20. Hensley's appearances air May 1-2.

We Love Soaps' Damon L. Jacobs was on the set of B&B on Thursday. Look for interviews with several members of the cast along with executive producer-head writer Brad Bell soon.
