Noemi Gonzalez Leaving 'The Young and the Restless' as Mia

Noemi Gonzalez has announced on social media that she will soon be leaving The Young and the Restless as Mia Rosales.

The actress posted on Instagram, “it’s been a pleasure 🙏🏽🙏🏽 thankful, blessed, & honored. Gracias a Dios for this life-changing experience. One more month of Mia in Genoa City, stay tuned for what’s next!! ❤️💋”

Gonzalez first appeared on November 12 as Rey's wife. The character (and the entire Rosales family)  was created by former executive producer/head writer Mal Young. Once he left in December, the character's days in Genoa City were rumored to be numbered. Her co-star, Jason Canela (Arturo), another actor hired under the Young regime, revealed last month that he was wrapping up his stint after being on the show for a little over a year.

Jordi Vilasuso (Rey) posted on Twitter about his soon-to-be-departing TV wife.

"Since the beginning, you’ve brought everything 2 ur work on @YandR_CBS ! U stepped up 2 the challenge of daytime TV and brought so much 2 the complex #MiaRosales from the get go," he tweeted. "Thx u 4 your talent & passion.U & Mia will be missed but you’re a &will continue 2 burn brighter!"

What Does 'The Young and the Restless' Legacy Mean to the Cast?

The Young and the Restless asked some of its cast to talk about what the show's legacy means to them. It's likely they chose actors who were on set the day they shot the featurette, including Peter Bergman (Jack), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki), Joshua Morrow (Nick) and Camryn Grimes (Mariah). Watch below.

On Monday, Y&R legend Eric Braeden (Victor) weighed in after apparently watching the video, wondering why so many longtime actors on the soap were not included.

New cast member Jordi Vilasuso (Rey) decided to respond to Braeden's inquiry.

Many fans pushed back on Twitter against what seemed like Vilasuso challenging Braeden. What do you think?

Jordi Vilasuso on Leaving 'Days of our Lives': "It's Been a Hell of a Ride!"

Emmy winning actor Jordi Vilasuso will be leaving NBC soap opera Days of our Lives later this month. On Wednesday, he spoke out about his impending departure from the iconic series in a post on Instagram.

Yes, it's true- my Days are numbered. I’ve been wanting to speak on this for awhile but out of respect and love for the show I’ve stayed quiet.

@nbcdays has brought me so much joy! NBC, Sony, Ken Corday @gregmeng , Albert Alarr, and the entire crew who make this show possible have all been such pleasure to work for and with. Although I wish Dario would have gone in a different direction, being a part of the Hernandez family was one of the best parts of the gig thanks to @abonemartinez , @ggering, and @camilabanus. Mi familia always took me on a rollercoaster of belly hurting laughter and tears that I would look forward to whenever I got the opportunity to mix it up with them.

I’m grateful to the women that escaped Dario’s grasp as well.. ;) @ari8675, @ximenaduque, and @_marcimiller_ are such beautiful actors both inside and out and always inspired me to work at a higher level.

Lastly, the fans! You are the ones who keep this show going. I’ve gotten to know some of you personally and your passion for the stories and characters is infectious. Your opinions of Dario were hilarious and often mutually shared! Ha!

So here’s to @nbcdays ! May you have many more years to come! It's been a hell of a ride! #dool #nextchapter #lookingforward

Are big TV deaths starting to lose their power?
Primetime viewers are starting to experience the same phenomenon daytime fans have faced in recent years. In the past, when a character died on Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead, viewers believed they were actually dead, but not anymore. As James Poniewozik puts it, "I do think the TV fan base suspects that even the most violent shows are reaching the limits of what they can do to top themselves, and beginning to see the whole bloody business — originally a refreshing change from the stunts of TV past — as a kind of stunt in itself. Killing off major characters became the way a show made its bones, proved no one was safe, proved it was willing to 'go there.' But now we 'go there' so often we practically have our mail forwarded there.”

Supergirl soars as fall's top new series
The latest entry in the expanding comics-to-TV universe gave CBS a solid opening, as the series premiere averaged 12.9 million viewers in a special 8:30 ET/PT slot behind The Big Bang Theory Monday, according to preliminary Nielsen figures, making it this fall's biggest new-series opener.

TV still lacking in racially diverse LGBT characters, according to GLAAD report
The GLAAD study found that racial diversity was still notably lacking, as 71% of LGBT characters on cable and 73% of those on streaming services were white. On broadcast, things were more positive: 33% (287) of 881 regular characters counted on primetime scripted broadcast programming were people of color, making for a six-point increase from last year. GLAAD also found that 16% (145) of regular characters on broadcast programming will be black — the highest percentage since the group began recording comprehensive racial data 11 years ago.

"The Facts of Life" star Charlotte Rae tells all in memoir
"The Facts of My Life" paints Rae as a woman determined to face the world with grace and humor, come what may, and one dedicated to her family, friends and a career that stretched from 1950s TV to Broadway. Included in the book is the story of her husband of 25 years, composer and sound editor John Strauss, who like Rae had turned to Alcoholics Anonymous for help, and was urged by his AA sponsor to be honest with himself and his wife about his sexuality.

Ricky Gervais returning as Golden Globes host after vowing to never host again
After his third hosting stint in 2012, Gervais said, "I've told my agent to never let me be persuaded to do it again.” But after a three-year hiatus, Gervais, has agreed to return as host in January 2016. "Ricky Gervais left us with a lasting impression and we are thrilled to have him back in our show as we honor the best in film and television," says Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Lorenzo Soria. "His off-the-cuff wit and quirky charm will surely have the room and audiences around the world at the edge of their seats."
