23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards Nominees Include Viola Davis, Sterling K. Brown, Bryan Cranston, Kerry Washington, Robin Wright

Former Santa Barbara star Robin Wright is nominated for House of Cards.
Nominees for the 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards for outstanding individual, cast and ensemble performances in film and television of 2016, as well as the nominees for outstanding action performances by film and television stunt ensembles were announced this morning at the Pacific Design Center's SilverScreen Theater in West Hollywood.

SAG-AFTRA Executive Vice President Gabrielle Carteris introduced Sophia Bush (Chicago P.D., One Tree Hill) and Common (Suicide Squad, Selma), who announced the nominees.

The Bold and the Beautiful alum Adam Gregory and wife are expected second child
Gregory, who played Thomas on B&B, announced via Instagram that he and his wife, Sheridan, are expecting their second child. The actor posted a photo of the sonogram, noting, “More trouble coming our way June 2016!” The couple, who wed in February of 2010, had their first child, Adam Kannon Gregory II, on February 7, 2013.

Viola Davis at the SAG Awards: "It Stars From The Top Up"

Accepting her award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for ABC drama How to Get Away With Murder, Viola Davis opened her speech by talking about her young daughter, who often asks her for stories. Inevitably, Davis said, her daughter includes one specific request: "Mommy, can you put me in the story?"

"It starts from the top up," Davis said, thanking the production and writing team behind her award-winning show "for thinking that a sexualized, messy, mysterious woman could be a 49-year-old, dark-skinned African-American woman who looks like me."

Julianne Moore Starts SAG Awards Acceptance Speech with 'As the World Turns' Story

Still Alice star Julianne Moore won for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role at Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards. Moore gave a shout-out to her early days on the soap opera As the World Turns, where she won a Daytime Emmy Award for her the dual role of Frannie and Sabrina.

"When I was on As the World Turns," Moore said to cheers from the audience, "I was so excited when they wrote two parts for me, the classic twin sister role, the good and the evil one ... and then I realized it was super boring to act by myself. And what I really loved, what I really craved, was being with another actor."

Moore starred on ATWT from 1985 to 1988 and returned in the show's final year on the air (2010).

WINNERS: 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards

DOWNTON ABBEY won for Outstanding Performance by an
Ensemble in a Drama Series
SAG-AFTRA presented its coveted Actor® statuette for the outstanding motion picture and primetime television performances of 2012 at the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in ceremonies attended by film and television’s leading actors, held Sunday, January 27, at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center.

Honored with individual awards were Daniel Day-Lewis, Anne Hathaway, Tommy Lee Jones and Jennifer Lawrence for performances in motion pictures and Alec Baldwin, Bryan Cranston, Kevin Costner, Claire Danes, Tina Fey and Julianne Moore for performances in television.
