THURSTON To Air Exclusively On The SFN

The SFN today announced that western web series THURSTON has been acquired for exclusive distribution on the network. Created by Kathryn O’Sullivan and exec produced by O’Sullivan and Paul Awad, the show is a compelling drama revolving around the residents of a remote mining town and their struggle for survival in the Kansas Ozarks. THURSTON was nominated for Best Web Series (Drama) at this year's Indie Soap Awards with star Catherine Frels nominated in the Lead Actress category.

“We absolutely love what Kathryn has created with THURSTON,” said Todd Fisher, co-founder of The SFN. “She and Paul (series director) have found a wonderful mix of visual style, great storytelling and fascinating characters. It’s a wonderful addition to the network.”

Teen Actress Jillian Clare Signs Up For GORGEOUS; Web Soap Coming Summer 2012

The SFN -- the online television network -- has announced that actress Jillian Clare has been cast as Maci Vanowen, the self-proclaimed queen of makeup and high fashion, whose business instincts have turned her hobby into a small cottage industry in the upcoming teen web soap GORGEOUS.

Clare, who portrayed troubled pre-teen Abby Deveraux on NBC's daytime soap DAYS OF OUR LIVES, can currently be seen in the Emmy nominated Victorious movie Freak The Freak Out on Nickelodeon, and is producer and star of the multi award-winning web series MISS BEHAVE. You can catch her on the telecast of the 3rd Annual Indie Soap Awards which airs on The SFN on March 18.

"Jillian is the perfect Maci Vanowen," said Stewart St. John who, along with Todd Fisher, created the teen soap. "She's a strong actress who will bring dimension to the character... making Maci someone who is not only beautiful, but interesting and compelling."

The SFN Network Greenlights First In-House Production: Teen Soap GORGEOUS

The SFN today announced teen drama soap GORGEOUS, centered around four high school "it girls" and their budding cosmetic empire, has been greenlit to join its popular online network. The series, which garnered interest at ABC Family and Nickelodeon, has an innovative online component that lends itself to web broadcast.

"GORGEOUS taps into the tween and teen girl zeitgeist, exploring the entrepreneurial savvy of Generation Y who love technology, shopping, fame and money," said Stewart St. John who, with partner Todd Fisher, created the new series. "Not only do we explore the loves and lives of the four teen girls as they build their cosmetic business, but we also spotlight the relationships between the girls and their mothers. It's a show with many layers and major brand appeal."

DEVANITY & CALIFORNIA HEAVEN Crossover Tonight!

Smash web soap DEVANITY, nominated for three Indie Soap Awards at next week's ceremony, will feature a special crossover event with gothic soap CALIFORNIA HEAVEN as KC Corrigan (Kali Cook) visits the DeVanity clan.

"Michael Caruso, creator of DeVanity, is as much of a fan of crossovers as Todd and I are," said Stewart St. John, who co-created CALIFORNIA HEAVEN with Fisher. "So it was a natural for us to have some fun with our respective shows.

"Kali was a perfect fit for DEVANITY," said Caruso, "Our whole team embraced her and the CALIFORNIA HEAVEN brand. It's Malibu beach meets DeVanity downtown glamour."

The storyline, which has been carefully guarded, will unfold tonight at 6 p.m. PT on DEVANITY, airing exclusively on The SFN at http://www.sfntv.com.
