News Brief

PGP Blog: "Guiding Light" stars Mandy Bruno (Marina) , Marcy Rylan (Lizzie) and Gina Tognoni (Dinah) will be among the guests visiting Hanna Storm and Dave Price on The Thanksgiving Day Parade on CBS.

Parade Magazine: When Eva Longoria strikes a pose in front of a camera, no one needs to shout, “Smile!” “It’s just in my nature to be cheerful,” she says. “I don’t try to be that way, but I’ve learned there’s no better medicine than laughing.” Best known for the last three years as Gaby, the sexy neighbor on ABC’s "Desperate Housewives", Eva, 32, is realistic about the ups and downs of life away from the fantasy of Wisteria Lane. A tabloid favorite for her recent wedding to basketball star Tony Parker, Eva always seems like the spirited girl on top of the world. But she also has known pain. Her big break came with a role as the psychotic Isabella BraƱa Williams on the daytime soap "The Young and the Restless". It was about this time that her two-year marriage to "General Hospital" star Tyler Christopher ended.

Washington Blade: ATWT star Van Hansis on the record: “Luke is all about the need to be loved and accepted. I think that need is universal. Life is about acceptance from the people who you want to love you. If that means family, a wife, a husband, a girlfriend/boyfriend, a best friend, you just want people to love you for who you are. Anyone can relate to that.”

Creators Syndicate: There's an exclusive offer for "As the World Turns" fans who want to see Van Hansis in "Die Mommie Die!": You can save 15 percent on tickets by going to www.BroadwayOffers.com and enter code DMDSCX3 or calling (212) 239-6200 and mentioning the same code. The offer is not available for premium seats and is subject to availability. Blackout dates may apply.

Oregon Live: "Friday Night Lights" sells out to sex and seduction. A once critically acclaimed series has been corrupted.

TV Guide: Mykel Shannon Jenkins is the first black leading man to land a contract with The Bold and the Beautiful in the show's 20-year history — and he earned this job the old-fashioned way. Jenkins won Season 1 of SOAPnet's I Wanna Be a Soap Star but got a snotty reception when he took his prize, a short-term cop role on General Hospital. "How I got the part made a lot of the cast unwilling to respect me," he says. Their loss.
