It has been 24 years since the death of Kate Martin on ALL MY CHILDREN. I still miss her and all of our other soap favorites. Daytime has never been the same since we lost Bert Bauer, Dr. Tom Horton, Mona Kane and Ada Hobson. There, of course, are many others that we have lost over the years. These characters served a huge purpose on their shows and it would be wise for our soaps to continue to develop this type of nurturing, loving character. Thank God for Maggie Horton and Kim Hughes!

Thanks for posting this...it brings back so many memories - especially of young Tad, who had such a great relationship with Kate. I also remember the death of young Mary Kennicott....how heart-breaking!
