Defending Billy Dee Williams, New ‘DWTS’ Superstar
It’s important to note that, while this is DANCING WITH THE STARS — a show where the “star” is supposed to become an expert dancer — common rules for common stars don’t apply to Billy Dee Williams. Because that’s not how he lives. He lives by his own code, and the show, regardless of how it has operated for 17 previous seasons, should adapt to the legend who has blessed it with his time.

DANCING WITH THE STARS, Includes Billy Dee Williams, Candace Cameron Bure, NeNe Leakes, Danica McKellar


This season’s dynamic lineup of stars -- including two Olympic Gold Medalists, a game show host, a swimming legend, a teen pop star, and a former GUIDING LIGHT actor who won an Indie Series Award in 2010 – will perform for the first time on live national television with their professional partners during the two-hour season premiere of DANCING WITH THE STARS, Monday March 17 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

In a first for DANCING WITH THE STARS, the competition will feature a new game changing twist called “The Switch Up.” This season, America will be given the power to vote and change celebrities and professional dance pairings. This new rule will affect all couples as they will be required to switch partners at a point in the season. Never before have dance partnerships been split up during the course of competition.

As announced this morning on ABC’s GOOD MORNING AMERICA by DANCING WITH THE STARS hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, the 12 celebrities with their professional partners heading to the dance floor this season (in alphabetical order) are:

Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio to make Grand Ole Opry debut on Saturdya, November 17
Their duets "If I Didn’t Know Better" and "When The Right One Comes Along" will be featured on the NASHVILLE soundtrack alongside tracks performed by other cast members including Hayden Panettiere, Connie Britton and Charles Esten. Bowen and Palladio will sign advance downloads of the NASHVILLE soundtrack after their Opry performance at Opry Originals located in downtown Nashville’s famed Lower Broadway area at 300 Broadway. Charles Esten made his Opry debut on November 10.
