The show is seeking an "established actress" for the contract role. She is described as "late '50s, Caucasian, female. This sexy, fiery woman is a smart and confident CEO of a successful company. While she is strong and can hold her own, she is also a mother and grandmother who wants what is best for her family." An insider says Walton has been under the weather lately, so it could just be a temporary recast.
This is probably a one day replacement or a different character or no big deal at all. But if it turns out Jess Walton is off Y&R for one day or permanently, now is the perfect time to bring back the best Jill ever, Brendra Dickson. Hogan Sheffer writing for Dickson would be a match made in soap heaven. It would probably get campy and some may not like, but who wouldn't tune it to see how it turned out?
