The winners of the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards were revealed in a ceremony hosted by Andy Samberg on Sunday night. Former Guiding Light and The West Wing actress won for the seventh time on Sunday, tying her with Ed Asner for the most performance Primetime Emmys in history.

Viola Davis also made history, becoming the first black actress to win the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for her role as Annalise Keating on How to Get Away with Murder.

“In my dreams and visions, I seemed to see a line, and on the other side of that line were green fields, and lovely flowers, and beautiful white ladies, who stretched out their arms to me over the line, but I couldn’t reach them no-how,” Davis said, quoting Harriet Tubman in her acceptance speech. “Let me tell you something: the only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity. You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there.”

NEWS: Deirdre Barlow Book, Crystal Hunt, Jonathan Frid, Anthony Geary

'Deirdre: A Life on Coronation Street' will be released on October 22
The book is the official Coronation Street tie-in celebration of Deirdre Barlow's time on the show; a tribute to one of Corrie fans' all-time favorite characters. Deirdre (played by the late Anne Kirkbride) was on our screens for over 40 years and in that time she became a British institution. Packed full of storylines, reminiscences and fascinating trivia, the book will explore Deidre’s pinnacle moments on The Street. From her first appearance in Weatherfield as a slip of a lass with a shoulder-length bob and with just three lines to say to becoming the most loved and talked about character in the history of the show. With a "wealth of never-before-seen photographs this is the book every Coronation Street fan cannot wait to read."

Ken Barlow will be told of Deirdre's death on tonight's episode of Coronation Street
Tonight’s episode of Coronation Street is going to be an emotional one. After the tragic death of actress Anne Kirkbride in January, the soapwill tonight feature the news of her character Deirdre’s passing.

Why soap opera history matters (at least to viewers)
Last week on General Hospital, Luke (Anthony Geary) asked Holly (Emma Samms) if she’d ever met his late cousin, Bill (also played by Geary from 1991 to 1993). Holly said, “No.” The Twitter-verse went mental.

Here is why soap history matters: Viewers invest themselves in the characters. They invest themselves in their love stories. They root for them. It’s what keeps them tuning in every day. Telling viewers that what they watched happen on their screens never, in fact, actually happened is a slap in the face.

Farewell Anthony Geary: Best Moments from 3 Decades on General Hospital
Anthony Geary is leaving General Hospital. His last day on the show will be July 27th. In honor of his departure, ABC.com will be releasing moments from the last 28 years of Luke Spencer's long journey starting Monday, July 13th.

Former Guiding Light and One Life to Live actress Crystal Hunt "honored" to play Lauren in Magic Mike XXL
"As an actress, it was an honor to be casted and work with such talented individuals," the Queens of Drama star reveals. "As a woman, it was actually an empowering role and the comradery among the females on set was apparent."

Bay of the Living Dead: Dark Shadows star Jonathan Frid Was Gay and That's OK
"He was silenced by the fear still clearly present in many fans today. By putting this aspect of his life under erasure you diminish the man. There is nothing wrong with being gay."

Game of Thrones Season 5 has averaged 19.8 million weekly viewers with DVR, On Demand and HBO Go/Now playback folded in
GoT's latest run thus stands as its most watched to date, besting the 19.1 million who consumed Season 4 episodes.

Canceled Forever unable to find a new home
The ABC drama, which was cancelled after one season in May, was unable to find another network, according to a message from series creator Matt Miller.

BBC turns town into set for new TV drama The Coroner
The crew has been filming around South Devon, including Torquay, Broadsands beach and Dartmouth, since April. They are scheduled to finish at the end of this month. The daytime drama will air on BBC One in 2016.

NEWS: Jordan Clarke, Sonia Satra, John Stamos, Dusty Rhodes, Jerry Penacoli, Danielle Harold, 'Game of Thrones' Finale

Guiding Light alum Jordan Clarke enjoys being a handyman
Jordan Clarke lived a working actor’s dream, going from primetime bit player to beloved, award-winning star of Guiding Light, playing Billy Lewis for many years. He was also a part-time handyman. In his latest feature, BuzzFeed's David Kushner recounts his relationship with Clarke as a handyman over the past few decades.

"Fixing things had a tangibility that, after all these years reading lines, he craved. He savored the satisfaction of making a new cabinet and seeing it being used in someone’s home. There were no lights shining down, no directors giving him orders, no egotistical co-stars. There was just him, a hammer, and a problem to solve. 'As wonderful as acting is,' he told me, 'this is more satisfying.'"

Where Are They Now: Former Guiding Light actress Sonia Satra
Sonia Satra is perhaps best known for her life as a soap opera star, having appeared in both Guiding Light (Lucy) and One Life to Live (Barbara). However, she is now known for her role in the world of fitness.

Former General Hospital actor John Stamos breaks his silence as a DUI arrest
Police pulled over the 51-year-old General Hospital (Blackie) alum in Beverly Hills on Friday evening after receiving several calls about a possible drunk driver. They then transported Stamos, who was driving alone, to the nearby Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for observation "due to a possible medical condition." There, he was arrested and issued a citation for DUI and was released to the care of the hospital.

"Thanks to everyone for their love & support," Stamos tweeted. "I'm home & well. Very appreciative of the BHPD & Cedars for their care."

Stamos is scheduled to answer to the DUI charge at a hearing in Los Angeles on September 11.

Jerry Penacoli thanks President Obama: You ‘Saved My Finances and My Life’
During an interview with entertainment news program Extra, correspondent Jerry Penacoli thanked the president for his healthcare law, which he says “pretty much saved my finances and my life” during his battle with cancer.

The former Days of our Lives (Miles) actor suffered from stage 3 melanoma and early-stage thyroid cancer. But he was able to pay for treatments thanks to a provision in the president’s healthcare law that lifted lifetime caps on insurance benefits.

EastEnders star Danielle Harold confirms exit from soap
Danielle Harold has confirmed she's leaving the show. The 23-year-old has played Lola Pearce since July 2011, but she admitted she's looking forward to trying new things.

Speaking to the Mirror, Harold said: "I've had the most amazing time at EastEnders having been involved in some exciting story lines, including giving birth in a live scene.

Game of Thrones finale brings disturbing deaths, big changes for Season 6
[Warning: Spoilers ahead for Sunday's Game of Thrones finale, "Mother's Mercy."]

Jon Snow's (Kit Harington) journey came to an end, when he was betrayed by the Night's Watch, who executed him Julius Caesar-style, each of the mutineers stabbing him while saying "for the Watch." The cruelest cut came when Jon's squire Olly (Brenock O'Connor) took part.

NEWS: 'Masters of Sex' Key Art, 'Neighbours' Inconsistencies, New Shenaz Treasury Series, 'Game of Thrones' Emmy Episode

'Masters of Sex' Season Two: First Look at Key Art
The key art for season two -- premiering July 13 on Showtime -- teases the sex researchers' progressing affair. The image features a shirtless Masters and make-up-less Johnson lying in bed with their arms wrapped around each other.

Neighbours' worst historical inconsistencies
Twenty-nine years is a long time in anyone's language, but in soap opera terms, it's literally hundreds of lifetimes. Keeping up with who's related to who and how on Channel Ten's Neighbours, Australia's longest-running soap, is as important as making sure that Susan Kennedy's dangly earrings match from one take to the next. When slip-ups happen - and they do, despite an extensive in-house database, and meticulous archives on fansites, where character biographies can run into the tens of thousands of words - it doesn't go unnoticed by the legions of the show's fans, many of whom have been faithfully tuning in since day one.

Shenaz Treasury's star on rise with her new TV series 'Brown Nation'
The former One Life to Live actress recently completed filming 10 episodes of the comedy series "Brown Nation in New York City.

Game of Thrones: Is This Year’s Emmy Submission a Big Old Spoiler?
There are plenty of reasons for anyone, spoiled or no, to be eagerly anticipating this Sunday's Game of Thrones finale entitled "The Children."

"It’s the best finale we've ever done, bar none," say series creators Dan Weiss and David Benioff. "The performances from our cast, the direction from Alex Graves, the VFX work, the new [music] cues from Ramin Djawadi—all of it came together in perhaps the finest hour we’ve produced."

Weiss and Benioff are so confident in this episode, in fact, that it’s the only one they have submitted for Best Writing for this year's Primetime Emmy Awards.

'Graceland gets serialized in second season
"There was a decision to really go serialized this year, to take out the case of the week element and really make it about the characters. So, you know, this year Johnny (Manny Montana) really comes to the forefront, and Jakes (Brandon Jay McLaren) has some great storylines early on, Paige (Serinda Swan) really takes on a huge role, and Charlie (Vanessa Ferlito) and Briggs… well, not to spoil anything, but their relationship has changed quite a bit."

ABC's Alien Thriller 'The Whispers' Makes Major Casting Change
Series regular Brianna Brown (Devious Maids, General Hospital) — who portrayed Lena, the photojournalist wife of Barry Sloane’s character, Wes, in the pilot — has exited the series for creative reasons.

NBC's 'Night Shift' Stays Hot Tuesday Opposite Dominant NBA Finals on ABC
NBC rookie drama The Night Shift is looking like the real deal after a third straight good performance, on Tuesday holding at last week’s level even though lead-in America’s Got Talent fell off. ABC won the night with Game 3 of the NBA Finals, which held up pretty well considering how lopsided the contest became in the early going.

Glee's Lea Michele "Really Fell" for New Boyfriend Matthew Paetz
"This is her first real relationship since Cory [Monteith]. She waited a long time before getting serious again and she likes him a lot."

'Fargo' Star Allison Tolman Slams Internet Haters for Weight Comments
"For f**k's sake, internet- I'm not fat, I've just been wearing this GIANT EFFING COAT FOR 8 WEEKS ON YOUR TELEVISION," the actress tweeted after having enough.

NEWS: Bradford Anderson, Jake Wood, Rebecca Budig, George R.R. Martin, Naya Rivera, Seth Gilliam, John Heard, Mark Jordon

'General Hospital' alum Bradford Anderson and wife welcome second daughter
Anderson (ex-Spinelli, GH) and his wife, Kiera, became the proud parents of their second child, daughter Finola Leo Anderson, on May 2. "A big week for sure," he tweeted. "Today we welcomed our 2nd daughter…. Juna [their 2-year-old] is thrilled." On May 3, he clarified that the baby was not named after his Port Charles cohort Finola Hughes (Anna), saying, "Thanks for the good wishes all! And Finola is a family name, not to mention the name of one of the coolest gals we know. So, perfect!"

EastEnders' Jake Wood on Lucy mystery: '15 endings will be filmed'
[SPOILER ALERT] Wood has said that the soap's bosses are planning to film 15 different endings to the Lucy Beale murder mystery. The show launched a long-running whodunnit storyline at Easter as Lucy was found dead on Walford Common. The plot will run until EastEnders' 30th anniversary in February 2015.

Wood's character Max Branning is among the many suspects in the story, but he told ITV's Good Morning Britain today (May 5) that he may only discover the outcome when the reveal episode airs.

Asked whether Max is the culprit, he replied: "I genuinely don't know. I think there's about four people in the world who know at the moment. I'm certainly not one of them."

NEWS: 'Game of Thrones' Controversial Scene, 'Devious Maids' Ratings Up, Aaron Sorkin Apologizes for 'The Newsroom'

George R.R. Martin Sounds Off on the 'Game of Thrones' Controversial Rape Scene: "We Never Discussed" the Change
Sunday night's outing of Game of Thrones left fans of George R.R. Martin's epic fantasy series shocked (and angry) after watching a sex scene between brother and sister Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Cersei (Lena Headey) Lannister—who um, reconnect next to their son King Joffrey's (Jack Gleeson) corpse—go down in a completely different way than in the book.

In A Storm of Swords, the sex was written as consensual; on the TV show, which the episode's director described as "horrifying," Jaime rapes Cersei, who tells him to stop. "I don't care," he responds.

Encouraged by the Red Wedding slaughter in the Riverlands that wiped out many of their Stark nemeses, the Lannisters' hold on the Iron Throne remains intact... but can they survive their own egos, as well as new and ongoing threats from the south, north and east? While an unbowed Stannis Baratheon continues to rebuild his army in Dragonstone, a more immediate danger comes from the south, as Oberyn Martell, the Lannister-loathing "Red Viper of Dorne," arrives at King's Landing to attend Joffrey's wedding to Margaery Tyrell, and perhaps act on an ulterior agenda. In the north, a depleted Night's Watch seems overmatched against the inexorable Wall advances of Mance Rayder's army of wildlings, which in turn is being trailed by an even more formidable foe: the undead White Walkers. As if that weren't enough, Daenerys Targaryen, accompanied by her menacing trio of dragons and army of Unsullied, is poised to liberate Meereen, the largest city in Slaver's Bay, which could ultimately provide her with enough ships to sail to Westeros and reclaim the Iron Throne.
